We’re building the professional home Europe’s emergency medical technicians have never had.

Objectives

1

Professionalisation & quality standards

Promoting uniform education, training, and certification standards for EMTs and pre-hospital professionals, and developing structural quality standards across Europe’s emergency medical services — so that care is reliably comprehensive, evidence-based, high-quality, respectful, and patient-centred.

2

European cooperation

Building and maintaining a platform for networking and exchange between national and international associations, organisations, and experts in emergency medicine, paramedicine, and rescue services.

3

Professional & advocacy representation

Representing the professional, legal, and operational interests of EMTs and pre-hospital emergency personnel before EU institutions, national governments, international organisations, and authorities.

4

Strengthening the profession

Improving working conditions, promoting gender balance and professional resilience, and improving public awareness and recognition of the profession.

5

Research & monitoring

Conducting and supporting comparative studies, surveys, and quality indicators to improve care quality on an evidence-based footing.

6

Innovation

Promoting innovation, digitalisation, and new models of care, and supporting knowledge and technology transfer between practice, science and education.

How EUFEA is run

General Assembly

The members’ assembly meets at least every two years. It sets membership fees, elects and dismisses the Executive Board and Auditors, approves the annual report and accounts and decides on statute changes and dissolution.

Executive Board

At least four members — President, one or more Vice Presidents, Secretary, and Treasurer — elected by the General Assembly for a two-year term. The Executive Board runs EUFEA’s day-to-day affairs, represents it externally and manages membership admissions.
